JTC awards Punggol Digital District hotel site to Verdant View

Habyt will operate the 224-key project due in H1 2027.

JTC has awarded the tender for a hotel and serviced residence development at Tower 98 in Punggol Digital District to Verdant View, a joint venture between JMD Holdings and TCRE Partners co-founder Nicholas Yeo.

The project will deliver a 224-key hospitality development on a direct 60-year lease, with Habyt appointed as operator.

JTC said the property will be the only hotel in the broader northeast corridor and will serve visiting researchers, partners, and investors in Punggol Digital District, alongside people working in the area.

The waterfront project overlooking Coney Island will offer loft and studio units for short and extended stays, with facilities including a wellness hub, co-working café, and family-friendly amenity space. Fit-out is expected to begin in May 2026, with completion targeted for the first half of 2027.

JTC said the hotel will also support learning and innovation in the district, with businesses able to testbed robotics and smart solutions through the Open Digital Platform, whilst Habyt will work with the Singapore Institute of Technology on hospitality internships and attachments.

The award comes as Singapore expects 17 million to 18 million international arrivals in 2026 and tourism receipts of about $31.0b to $32.5b, with JTC positioning the project to capture demand for flexible accommodation in an innovation-focused district.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
