JTC revamps LaunchPad masterplan with Kampong AI block

The block will accommodate up to 70 companies and event spaces.

JTC Corporation has unveiled a refreshed masterplan for LaunchPad @ One-North, outlining plans to strengthen its focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and other growth industry sectors.

The updated plan focuses on enhanced and dedicated infrastructure, policies to support startups at various stages, and community-building programmes for the startup ecosystem.

Singapore is home to over 4,500 tech startups and more than 500 global venture capital firms and angel investors, according to a press release.

A key component of the plan is Kampong AI, which will comprise two repurposed blocks within LaunchPad @ One-North.

The AI block will provide 14,500 square metres of business park space to accommodate up to 70 companies and event spaces. An adjacent block will offer more than 200 residential units.

A pilot phase of Kampong AI will begin in March 2026, using existing workspaces at the launch pad to house AI companies ahead of the project’s completion. The development is slated for completion in 2028.

JTC said it conducted engagements with stakeholders across the startup ecosystem as part of its masterplan review.

Participants identified AI as a critical technology expected to impact multiple industries and called for a stronger community of AI leaders, practitioners and researchers in Singapore.

Separately, the group said it will establish a new LaunchPad @ PDD in phases later this year to expand its offering of startup spaces islandwide.

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
