Services sector business receipts up 3.5% in Q2

All industries except recreation & personal services fared well.

The services industries fared well in the second quarter, with business receipts growing 3.5% year-on-year, according to a release by the Department of Statistics.

Turnover rose for all services industries fared well, except for the recreation & personal services industry, which registered a decline of 18.3%.

Higher turnovers were reported by the financial & insurance services industry (9.5%), followed by the health & social services (8.9%), information & communications (5.9%) and business services industries (1.8%).

Likewise, business receipts of transport & storage services and education services industries both rose 1.7%.

On a quarter-on-quarter basis, business receipts edged up by 1.4%.
