CSA launches Safe App Portal pilot for mobile app security
Six-month trial allows developers to scan and assess app safety.
The Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) launched the Safe App Portal pilot to help developers detect security flaws in mobile applications, according to a government press release on 22 October 2025.
The six-month pilot provides a tool for developers to scan mobile apps, assess risks, and view detailed security reports. Senior Minister of State for Digital Development and Information Tan Kiat How announced the initiative during the Singapore International Cyber Week 2025.
Developers can upload app packages or links to run automated scans. The portal also generates a report identifying malicious behaviour, uncommon permission requests, and code vulnerabilities.
CSA built the portal using standards from the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP), MITRE Corporation, and Android security guidelines after consulting government agencies, financial institutions, e-commerce firms, and app developers.
The agency said it will collect feedback during the pilot to guide further refinements before a full rollout.
