SG, Germany forge strategic partnership to boost bilateral ties

The two countries will focus on security, trade, climate, and research.

Singapore and Germany are set to strengthen their ties through a strategic partnership, collaborating closely in areas such as security, trade, climate, and research.

As part of the partnership, militaries in both countries will deepen cooperation in digitalisation and cybersecurity and exchange information via a line of communication.

The partnership will also focus on advancing maritime digitalisation and strengthening collaboration within the financial services sector.

To promote sustainability, Singapore and Germany will explore various waste streams, including packaging waste, as well as measures to enhance climate resilience, particularly in coastal protection, urban stormwater management, and flood resilience.

Both parties will also create areas of cooperation on carbon pricing, including carbon tax, carbon credit agreements, and decarbonisation technology.

In addition, both parties will also implement joint research grants and projects in the fields of Quantum Technology, Medtech, Green Chemistry, Circular Economy, Carbon Capture Utilization, renewable energy technologies, and Information and Communication Technologies.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
