Singapore's NODX dips 5.4% in 3Q16

No thanks to China, Indonesia, and the US.

According to IE Singapore, on a y-o-y basis, NODX contracted by 5.4% in 3Q 2016, following the previous quarter’s 0.2% decline, attributed to the decrease in both electronic and non-electronic NODX.

On a q-o-q SA basis, NODX decreased by 6.4% in 3Q 2016, in contrast to the 9.4% increase in 2Q 2016, on lower shipments of both electronic and non-electronic NODX.

Here's more from IE Singapore:

Electronic domestic exports decreased by 1.5% on a q-o-q SA basis in 3Q 2016, after the previous quarter’s 1.2% decline. Non-electronic NODX contracted by 8.3% in 3Q 2016, in contrast to the 14.3% growth in the previous quarter.

NODX to all of the top NODX markets, except Hong Kong and South Korea, declined in 3Q 2016. The biggest contributors to the y-o-y NODX decrease in the quarter were China, Indonesia and the US.

Specifically, NODX to China declined by 8.2% in 3Q 2016, following the previous quarter’s decrease of 9.1%. NODX to Indonesia decreased by 15.9% in 3Q 2016, after the previous quarter’s contraction of 16.3%. NODX to the US decreased by 7.7%, in contrast to the 2.4% rise in the previous quarter.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
