Sembcorp appoints two new directors to the board

Manu Bhaskaran joined the team on Monday while Uwe Krueger will start on 1 October.

Sembcorp Industries Ltd has appointed two new non-executive directors to its Board, a partner at the Centennial Group and an executive of Temasek International.

Sembcorp has appointed Manu Bhaskaran as a non-executive and independent director effective Monday, 1 July, the firm announced late last week.

Bhaskaran is a partner of the Centennial Group and the founding CEO of its Singapore
subsidiary, Centennial Asia Advisors.

Prior to Centennial, Bhaskaran held senior positions at Société Générale’s Asian investment
banking division and was a member of its executive committee.

He also brings with him 40 years of experience in studying economic, political and security issues as a lead Asian economist.

Sembcorp also assigned Uwe Krueger the non-executive and non-independent director role in its board effective 1 October.

Krueger is currently the vice chairman for Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) of Temasek International. He joined Temasek International in 2018 leading the industrials, business services, energy and resources division, while serving as the head of EMEA.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
