Singapore startup DocDoc expands to China

It provides Chinese policyholders with regional doctor discovery services.

Singapore-based patient intelligence firm DocDoc has partnered with Chinese insurance risk control company Kaitaiming Technology (KTM) for an expansion into the Chinese market, according to a new release.

The startup seeks to offer its doctor discovery services to the policyholders of China’s top insurers on KTM’s platform, and their affiliates in Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, and South Korea.

Under the agreement, KTM will integrate DocDoc into their insurance agent application, which will allow agents to expand their customer base as well as improve engagement with existing customers.

Policyholders of KTM’s insurance partners will gain access to a medically-trained concierge team which leverages DocDoc’s AI-powered doctor discovery platform to match them to the right doctors.

Last year, DocDoc raised $18m (US$13m) in capital, bringing its total funding raised to date to $34.2m (US$24.6m).
