Symbo launches digital insurance platform in Singapore

It aims to launch in Indonesia, Malaysia and Southeast Asia.

Regional all lines insurance business Symbo Platform Holdings is launching its proprietary digital insurance platform to retail and corporate customers in Singapore after it managed to obtain an insurance brokerage license,

Through the platform, consumers can purchase and administer general and life insurance products across personal and commercial insurance lines.

Symbo plans to expand to Indonesia, Malaysia and the broader Southeast Asian region. To facilitate the company’s growth plans, Symbo has appointed former market management head for Southeast Asia at Allianz Laurens Koppelaar as Head of International, and former director of MetLife Innovation Centre Singapore Subhajit Mandal as Head of Product.

“The launch of Symbo’s online insurance broking business in Singapore is a major milestone for the company as we intend to participate in Singapore’s vibrant innovation ecosystem to expand across Southeast Asia,” the firm said in a statement.
