Google co-founder Sergey Brin sets up family firm in Singapore

Singapore’s stable economic and political landscape is attractive to the uber-rich.

California-based Bayshore Global Management firm, the family office of Google co-founder Sergey Brin, has set up shop in Singapore.

According to reports, Brin’s family office was established in late 2020.

Brin is the ninth richest person in the world with a networth of more than $114.9b (US$86.5b), according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Brin isn’t the only uber-rich that Singapore has been attracting. According to the Money Authority of Singapore, Singapore is home to roughly 200 single-family offices managing assets valued at around $20 billion.

Billionaires, such as inventor and entrepreneur James Dyson and Haidilao International Holding Ltd co-founder Shu Ping, also have family offices in the city-state, whilst hedge fund manager and philanthropist Ray Dalio plans to open one in the country.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
