Many Singaporeans find themselves baffled by the financial term "equity," data from the City Index showed.

The term has an average monthly search of 270,000 in Singapore.

The confusion is rooted in the different interpretations of the term, said City Index.

Meanwhile, "GDP" is the second most confusing financial term for Singaporeans, with 1800 searches per month.

Other financial terms which Singaporeans find confusing include "correlation," "acquisition," and "amalgamation," with 800, 600, and 500 average monthly searches, respectively.
