CLD launches 272-unit food manufacturing hub in Kallang

Development includes ramp-up food factory and heritage block.

CapitaLand Development has launched Gourmet Xchange, a 272-unit food manufacturing development in Kallang, described as Singapore’s largest strata-titled food facility, according to a press release.

The project comprises a nine-storey ramp-up food factory and a three-storey heritage terrace block with units for production kitchens, cloud kitchens, storage, distribution and food-and-beverage outlets.

Unit sizes range from 3,000 square feet to 7,000 sq ft, supporting food manufacturing and related operations within the development.

The facility includes logistics features such as container truck access to the first three floors and 16-metre driveways for heavy vehicles.

The development also includes restaurants, kiosks and the possibility for selected production units to be converted into consumer showrooms, subject to approvals.

The project is located on JTC’s first Industrial Government Land Sales site piloting adaptive reuse, retaining an existing terrace factory block for food manufacturing and related activities.

Gourmet Xchange is the first strata-titled food development in Singapore to receive the Building and Construction Authority’s Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy certification and also holds Whole Life Carbon and Maintainability badges.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
