Ascott to open over 1,000 units in Austria, Spain amidst European expansion

Ascott's European portfolio now includes 64 properties with nearly 8,500 units across 26 cities in 10 countries.

Ascott Limited (Ascott) signed seven new properties through franchise and management agreements totalling nearly 1,100 units across Vienna and Seville as part of its ongoing European expansion.

These brings Ascott’s European portfolio to 64 properties with nearly 8,500 units across 26 cities in 10 countries.

Ascott partnered with developer VIE Trust Real Estate Group for five new signings that add to their three existing partnerships.

The firms will add 750 units across Ascott brands in Vienna, including a second, 150-unit lyf-branded property opening by end-2026.

Meanwhile, the hotel developer extended its partnership with Forty Management SA in Seville, where they plan to establish a 12.5-hectare mixed-use mega project called Lagoon City Seville, which will feature 250-lyf and 120-Somerset units and as a centrepiece an 18,000-square-metre crystalline lagoon surrounded by beaches.

The collaborations were signed by Ascott during the opening of lyf Gambetta Paris, the hotel brand’s French debut. The lyf Paris site, which was converted from a 20th century printing house, features signature social spaces, gym, and a private villa.

Ascott plans to open four lyf properties in 2026, a second hospitality property in Vienna and three in the UK.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
