
China to lead inbound bookings to Singapore this Lunar New Year
The primary departure cities in China remain Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou.
China will be the leading source of inbound bookings to Singapore this Lunar New Year, with strong growth across all categories, including accommodations, flights, and attractions, according to Trip.com.
Whilst primary departure cities in China remain in Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou, bookings from Jinan have surged.
Bookings in the city more than doubled, along with Hangzhou and Chengdu, which saw increases of 66% and 55%, respectively.
In addition to Chinese travellers, bookings in Singapore from Indonesian users have surged by over 193%, nearly tripling compared to last year.
Canadian user bookings have also shown a significant increase, more than doubling to reflect a 127% rise.
Singapore travellers are largely taking short- and mid-haul trips over the holiday.
Southeast Asian neighbours Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia, ranking first, second, and fourth, respectively, all ranked amongst the top five outbound destinations. Japan and mainland China were third and fifth, respectively.
