Complete wellness concept Madison House soon to open doors at idyllic Fort Canning

True wellness holism to hit Singapore

Think: the modern maturation of a wellness club? Ok, so what are the essential elements or wishes? Obviously, wellness activities, gym, yoga, etc. Perhaps an F&B outlet focusing on the latest options? But where is the X Factor?

Wellness holism, where members are respected as individuals who are encouraged to listen to their bodies and combine health with a strong dash of leading la dolce vita.

Well, it’s coming! Singapore will soon be welcoming Madison House, a wellness concept club that respects you, the individual. Simply put, Madison House is a lifestyle hospitality club that serves as a holistic destination, marrying a best-in-class vibrant culinary offering, fitness, wellness, and discerning social opportunities.

“Madison House is our answer to a new era for private clubs, where optimal living, holistic wellness and meaningful community take centre stage,” shares Madison House MD, Mark Watts, speaking exclusively with the Singapore Business Review late in 2025.

“We built this club for those who crave more than exclusivity - they want belonging, enrichment, and the tools to perform at their best. Every detail has been crafted for our members’ evolving lifestyles, from the best restaurants and bars, to restorative treatments and architectural serenity, to rooms designed for both quiet reflection and lively gatherings. In essence, Madison House reimagines the club as a true home for living well and living fully in today’s world.”

Tackling a saturated market

The core concept is clear: just be good to yourself, and in an age where this philosophy may almost run afoul of wellness purists, such a truly empathic mantra is refreshing to hear. But make no mistake, Watts is fully aware that Singapore is a fairly saturated wellness market and that there needs to be some serious USPs for the Madison House concept to grow solid roots in the congested and fertile Singaporean topsoil.

Watts’ business model centres on creating daily relevance for members through an ecosystem of services including movement, sport, dining, and wellness. This model is deepened by its integration with the adjacent and newly opened Mett Singapore hotel, offering members an extended world of hospitality venues which standalone clubs lack.

Moreover, Watts is guided deeply by a laissez-faire concept of his “ideal” member. Watts intimates that the ideal member is not defined by a specific demographic or image but by a mindset: one of “living with intention." “Our members are curious, driven individuals who value meaningful experiences, depth over distraction, and seek a single place for activity, socialising, and restoration. The club prioritises active participation over simple membership, curating a community of interesting, like-minded people.”

As the all-important critical hook, the club differentiates itself in the crowded wellness space by offering wellness as a holistic ecosystem, not just a single facility. It combines movement, recovery, and social connection, featuring Milan’s ‘The Longevity Suite’ offering clinical-grade technologies. The goal is to blend high-tech tools with a warm, human, and social environment to foster holistic well-being.

Further USPs matter

Located in Singapore's Fort Canning Park, the club leverages the site's history and oasis-like ambience within the bustling CBD/Orchard Road precinct. The interior design by a Barcelona studio aims for a "second home" feel. Apart from the expected eclectic programming, some unusual activities are included on the member menu: padel and pickleball tournaments, cultural events, and specialist talks, all designed to support premium pricing and foster member loyalty.

“Our inspiration came from observing that people wanted to stay active and feel good, but also wanted to enjoy themselves, and were finding it inconvenient to move between multiple venues like a gym, a spa, a restaurant, and a social club to achieve this. Madison House was created to bring all these elements into one ‘rhythm’, one place where movement, recovery, and connection are all naturally linked," concludes Watts.
