Straco rebounds with $25.68m net profit in 2023

The company recorded a $10.8m loss in the previous financial year.

Straco Corporation reported a net profit of $25.68m in 2023, rebounding from its loss of $10.8m in 2022.

The group’s revenue amounted to $82.1m, reflecting a significant year-on-year (YoY) growth of 191.3%.

The company attributed its growth to the recovery of China’s and Singapore’s tourism activities following the easing of COVID-19 measures in China in December 2022.

Straco recorded 3.36 million visitor arrivals to its attractions in 2023, reaching approximately 73% of the pre-pandemic level.

Amidst its growth, the group recorded an exchange loss of $1.71m million due to the weakening of the RMB currency against the Singapore dollar.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
