Westlite Mandai adds 3,696 beds, total hits 9,986
The expansion aims to strengthen CAREIT’s purpose-built worker accommodation portfolio.
CAREIT has received a Temporary Occupation Permit (TOP) for a new block at its Westlite Mandai worker accommodation facility.
The new block adds 3,696 beds, raising Mandai’s total capacity to 9,986 beds from 6,290. Regulatory approvals allow CAREIT to retain an extra 1,980 beds until 2030.
Following the TOP, CAREIT will release approximately $26.35m to the vendors and is set to pay $34m to its development partner upon receipt of the Foreign Employee Dormitories Act (FEDA) licence.
The expansion is part of CAREIT’s broader strategy to grow its purpose‑built worker accommodation portfolio in Singapore and enhance recurring income from high ocupancy assets, according to the company’s press statement.
