72% of Singaporeans feel ‘optimistic’ about AI.

Singaporeans are displaying more positive attitudes towards artificial intelligence (AI) than other countries, according to the latest global research by KPMG. Eight in 10 Singaporeans surveyed say that they are accepting of AI, compared with the global figure of 71%.

The report also revealed that the majority of Singaporeans have high confidence in entities such as the government and commercial organisations to develop and regulate AI in the public’s best interest. Over 17,000 people from 17 countries were surveyed, with the sample size across countries ranging from 1,001 to 1,021.

More data shows that 72% of Singaporeans feel ‘optimistic’ about AI whilst 66% say they are ‘excited.’

90% believe that AI will have a range of benefits, with 59% saying that the benefits will outweigh the risks.

Additionally, 60% are willing to trust AI at work, ranking Singapore fifth behind the BICS countries.

Nearly more than half (53%) believe that current regulations, laws, and safeguards are sufficient to make AI use safe, placing Singapore behind only India and China.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
