CompTIA, SGInnovate to upskill AI and cybersecurity talents as jobs grow 44%

The partnership targets the skills gap in Singapore.

CompTIA and SGInnovate signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to upskill artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity talent in Singapore, as job openings in the two fields rose 44% from 2024 to 2025, according to a press release.

Under the MoU, CompTIA will deploy its globally recognised technology certifications and learning solutions, whilst SGInnovate will connect participants to training programmes and employment opportunities across startups and enterprises in Singapore’s deep tech ecosystem.

SGInnovate data showed applications for AI and cybersecurity roles increased 65% over the same period, but only one in five applicants met required skills criteria, highlighting the skills gap the MoU aims to address through linked training, certification and employment pathways.

To address near-term workforce demand, the organisations will also roll out the CyberReady+ Bootcamp, a three-stage programme covering foundational cybersecurity skills, analyst workflows and advanced topics at the intersection of AI and cybersecurity.

The partnership will anchor CompTIA’s SecAI+ certification in Singapore, its first global credential focused on securing, governing and responsibly integrating AI into cybersecurity operations, with applications hosted on SGInnovate’s Deep Tech Central platform.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
