GIC, ADIA invest $1.6b into Vantage Data Centers

In addition, Vantage revealed its plans to expand to Johor, Malaysia.

Global investors GIC and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) have invested $1.6b into Vantage Data Centers to support the company’s expansion in Asia-Pacific.

GIC and ADIA, through their respective affiliates, are both existing investors in Vantage Data Centers.

In addition, Vantage revealed its plans to expand to the Johor, Malaysia, market with the acquisition of Yondr Group's 300MW+ hyperscale data centre campus located in Sedenak Tech Park.

The site, covering nearly 73 acres, is amongst the largest data centre developments in Southeast Asia and will be renamed JHB1.

Once completed, it will include three facilities with more than 300MW of capacity.

The land sits within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone and will be connected by dark fibre links to other data centre hubs in the region.

The project also includes direct-to-chip liquid cooling and is pursuing EDGE certification. It was initially backed by a green loan.

Yondr’s campus was part of a broader portfolio acquired earlier this year by investment vehicles managed by DigitalBridge affiliates.

The new investment and the Johor acquisition are expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2025, pending regulatory approvals.

With the addition, Vantage will have about 1GW of operational and planned IT capacity across Asia-Pacific, including in Australia, Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
