SGX-listed APS to acquire Taiwan green data firm for $202.3m

APS aims to build the first of the sustainable data centres by 2025.

Asia-Pacific Strategic Investments Limited (APS), an SGX-listed real estate developer, has announced its plan to acquire a 100% stake in Mobii Genius co., ltd, a Taiwanese firm specialising in sustainable data solutions.

Mobii Genius to provide APS’s upcoming facilities with carbon-neutral computing equipment, such as low-power processors and energy-efficient data processing algorithms.

Artificial intelligence (AI) will be utilised to optimise the data centre’s monitoring systems for its energy consumption.

The facilities’ main energy supply will harness renewable energy sources, like hydrogen and water,to offset carbon emissions arising from data centre operations.

The acquisition is expected to be completed in the last quarter of 2024. The first of these data centres will be built by 2025.
