UMS Integration net profit rises to $30m in 9M on strong semiconductor sales

Sales in chips and semiconductor systems grew by 7% and a stable 1% YoY, respectively.

UMS Integration Limited’s net attributable profit increased by 4% to $30.5m in the first nine months, as its overall sales climbed 5% YoY to $184.3m.

UMS saw higher sales and profits despite geopolitical tensions and steep US trade tariffs since the start of the year, it said in its financial report for the period.

During the period, the firm’s earnings per share rose from 4.18 cents last year to 4.30 cents.

In the semiconductor segment in 9M2025, UMS saw sales rise 7% amidst higher component sales that grew 15% YoY to $89.3m, compared to $77.8m in the same period last year.

Sales of semiconductor integrated systems sales remained relatively stable, easing 1% YoY to $69.3m compared to $68.6m in the same period last year.

New customer orders boosted sales in Malaysia and other markets by 164% and 26%, respectively, during the period under review, UMS said.

The artificial-intelligence global chip and aviation sectors are expected to drive sales, it added.

However, revenue in the aerospace and others segments dipped 5% and 6%, respectively, UMS said.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
