CPF extends DPS administration contract with Great Eastern Life

The contract has been extended until 30 September 2028.

The Central Provident Fund (CPF) Board has extended Great Eastern Life’s contract as the administrator of the Dependants’ Protection Scheme (DPS) for another three years, from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2028.

Great Eastern Life was initially awarded a five-year contract on 1 October 2020 and began administering the DPS as the sole insurer on 1 April 2021.

Under the DPS, insured members and their families receive a cash payout in case of death, terminal illness, or total permanent disability.

Insured members up to age 60 are covered for a maximum sum assured of $70,000. For those above age 60 and up to age 65, the maximum sum assured is $55,000.

DPS coverage automatically applies to Singapore citizens or permanent residents between ages 21 and 65 upon making a valid CPF working contribution. Those who are not automatically covered may apply directly to Great Eastern Life to join the scheme.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
