G.H.Y Culture & Media unit to co-produce a drama series with iQIYI

The new drama series will be a sequel to Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty

G.H.Y Culture & Media unit, Tianjin Changxin Film & Media, has entered into a co-production agreement with iQIYI Inc.

Under the agreement, the two parties will co-produce a web drama series titled "Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty 3: Chang'an" (唐朝诡事录之长安). Filming is scheduled to begin in October 2024, with the production expected to be completed and handed over in 2025.

The new drama series is the latest sequel to two previous productions: "Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty" (唐朝诡事录) and "Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty 2: To the West" (唐朝诡事录之西行). These earlier installments aired in 2022 and 2024, respectively.

The co-production is expected to support G.H.Y Culture & Media’s business expansion and boost its "IP Franchise" strategy, which maximises the value of its intellectual property ("IP") portfolio.

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
