Sunpower Group clinches $6.67m manufacturing and services contract

It will design and construct long-distance distribution steam pipelines and a smart energy station for State Power Investment Corporation.

Environmental protection solutions firm Sunpower Group has secured a $6.67m (RMB33.9m) manufacturing and services (M&S) contract from new customer, State Power Investment Corporation’s (SPIC) Jilin Electric Power Co., an announcement revealed.

Under the contract, Sunpower will provide a comprehensive range of services that includes the design as well as engineering, procurement and construction of low-energy, long-distance distribution steam pipelines and a smart energy station, to be located outside SPIC's Baicheng Power Plant to SPIC’s integrated energy project that will supply industrial and municipal heating, compressed air and hot water.

The delivery is expected to be completed by end-2019.

To date, Sunpower has seven operational green investment (GI) projects, five projects under construction and at the design phase, and a robust pipeline of projects being evaluated for investment or acquisition.

“We aim to invest $490m (RMB2.5b) in equity to build a sizeable and valuable portfolio of GI projects that ramp up long-term, high quality recurring income and cash flows for the group,” Guo Hongxin, executive chairman of Sunpower, highlighted.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
