Frencken to build new $63m manufacturing facility in Kaki Bukit

The site will be built on a plot of land leased from JTC Corporation to its subsidiary ETLA.

Semiconductor company Frencken will invest $63m to build a new five-storey manufacturing facility in Kaki Bukit.

The site will be built on a plot of land leased from JTC Corporation to its subsidiary ETLA for 33 years, starting 18 August.

As part of the lease agreement with JTC, ETLA has to invest at least $19.5m, of which $13.3m must be spent on new plant and machinery.

The new facility will expand its production resources to support existing and new programmes, as well as strengthen its position with key customers in the coming years, the company said.

In particular, the new plant will have larger clean rooms, allowing the group to scale up its business with key wafer fabrication equipment customers.

Once completed, Frencken plans to progressively relocate and consolidate its manufacturing operations in Singapore, which are currently in separate facilities in Changi North and Seletar Aerospace Link.

Construction will begin in the third quarter of 2025 and is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2027.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
