Azure Capital buys 7.3% Trek 2000 stake from OSIM founder

OSIM founder Ron Sim will not proceed with legal claims against the tech firm.

Fund manager Azure Capital Pte Ltd has acquired 22.1 million shares in tech firm Trek 2000 International from OSIM International founder Ron Sim Chye Hock.

In a bourse filing dated 28 May, Azure has become a substantial shareholder of the company with a 7.3% stake.

The transaction was completed on 26 May.

Following the sale, Sim’s stake in Trek fell from about 9.3% to about 2.0%, and he ceased to be a substantial shareholder.

In a separate filing, Trek announced that Sim and OSIM will not proceed with legal claims against the company, Executive Chairman Wayne Tan, and former Executive Chairman Henn Tan.

The legal matter stemmed from a June 2025 letter of demand, which sought $6.9m for alleged losses suffered by OSIM and a buyout of 28.1 million Trek shares held by Sim for $5.3m.

Trek said at the time that the allegations had no basis and that it was seeking legal advice to resist or defend the claims.

Following Azure Capital’s entry, the firm’s substantial shareholders comprise Wayne Tan, Kioxia Corporation, CTI II Limited, Creative Technology Ltd, and Azure Capital.

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
