Tokyo Metropolitan Government opens Singapore office
It aims to attract foreign companies and investment to Tokyo.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government opened its office in Singapore, following the establishment of overseas consultation desks named "Access to Tokyo" in London, Paris, and San Francisco since 2017.
According to an announcement, these desks are charged with responding to inquiries and providing consultations and wide range of information (such as TMG’s initiatives to attract foreign companies, the attractiveness of Tokyo’s market, etc.) to foreign companies considering overseas expansion and overseas hub organizations supporting them.
The office will handle inquiries on Japanese market entry and market information, providing immediate responses in the local language and time. Moreover, representatives will visit foreign companies, provide programme information, and attend exhibitions and trade shows to identify promising companies.
The new office will also introduce Tokyo’s programme to “hub organizations” (the country’s government agencies, industrial associations, and investors, etc.), so the program can be introduced to a large number of companies (association members, etc.) all at once.
