SPH to revamp zbSunday look and content

Newspaper receives refresh on April 6.

zbSunday, Singapore's No.1 Chinese newspaper on Sundays which is published by Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), will be refreshed with a new look and content starting 6 April 2014, according to an SPH release.

Readers are expected to see a bolder, cleaner and sleeker new masthead on the front page cover. New section masthead with colour coding can be found in the inside pages to differentiate the various sections.

Apart from a fresh design, the refreshed zbSunday is also packed with new content.

There will be comprehensive coverage of key developments in Singapore and abroad in the news section. There will also be more cross-platform news coverage between the digital and print editions. For example, reader's polls on zaobao.sg can be found in zbSunday.

Readers who follow business news can turn to the new Business section which is now paginated on the back page. The Business section offers features, analyses, interviews with industry movers and shakers, wealth management, property watch and investment tips.

Sports fans will get to read commentaries written by veteran sports writers in the Sports section. The What's On page will be expanded to include more stories on local attractions such as the "must-go" places and "must-do" activities in Singapore.

zbWeekly, the lifestyle section of the Sunday newspaper, will retain its magazine look with pages of vibrant and colourful layout showcasing the latest trends, fashion, entertainment and shopping.

zbSunday, an essential read for the Chinese community, complements Lianhe Zaobao, which is published from Mondays to Saturdays.

Mr Goh Sin Teck, Editor of Lianhe Zaobao, said: "Lianhe Zaobao is committed to providing a quality and enjoyable read to our readers. We hope the refreshed, more contemporary look of zbSunday can reach out to the younger audience and excite our loyal readers at the same time."

Ms Maureen Ho, Editor of zbSunday cum Special Projects Editor, said: "The Sunday edition of Lianhe Zaobao was rebranded with a new identity as zbSunday in August 2004. As zbSunday enters its 10th year, we hope to make it even more fun and vibrant with a new look and fresh content."

In appreciation of readers' support, zbSunday will be organising three reader's contests offering great deals such as KFC breakfast for the family, Fairmont Singapore Spa Staycations and High Tea at Tian Fu Tea Room. Participation details can be found in the new issue on 6 April.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
