Samudera enters Korea-Japan corridor with shuttle launch

The new Northeast Asia lane will start in April 2026.

Samudera Shipping Line Ltd—a Singapore-based shipping company—has launched a weekly container shuttle service connecting Nagoya and Kobe in Japan with Busan in South Korea, marking its first entry into the Korea–Japan trade corridor.

The service—called the Korea-Japan Shuttle—will commence in April 2026 and expands the company’s intra-Asia network into Northeast Asia, according to a press release.

It has been introduced on the back of customer demand and carries committed cargo at launch.

Bani Mulia, Group Chief Executive Officer, said the Korea–Japan trade lane is an active corridor, and the service aligns with the company’s focus on building its intra-Asia network.

He added that committed cargo supports the service and that the company will monitor demand on the route.

Samudera said the service strengthens its intra-Asia network and responds to evolving customer requirements. It said it operates as a feeder operator.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
