Singapore, U.S. focus on heat resilience in new pact

The parties will also strengthen cooperation in areas like coastal science.

Singapore and the United States have inked a pact to collaborate on environmental management and climate protection.

Under the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed by the Singapore Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment (MSE) and the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), both parties will strengthen cooperation areas like climate monitoring and prediction and coastal science.

The parties will also collaborate on modelling to support coastal protection and flood resilience efforts, earth observations for environmental monitoring, and heat resilience.

“MSE, including its statutory boards, National Environment Agency and national water agency PUB, and NOAA will also conduct technical exchanges, information sharing and joint publications and projects under this MOU,” the parties announced.
