Wilmar International unit buys 13% stake in AWL Agri

Lence Pte Ltd. intends to get an additional 13% on top of its 20% equity capital.

Wilmar International Limited’s subsidiary Lence Pte. ltd recently announced its intention to acquire 13% of AWL Agri Business Limited (AWL), or 168.96 million equity shares, from Adani Commodities LLP (ACL).

The 13% acquisition has a sale price of INR275 ($4.04) per share that will amount to INR46.5b ($683m) according to a bourse filing.

This is after Lence agreed to acquire up to a maximum of 259.94 million equity shares at INR275 per equity share, or up to 20% of the existing paid-up equity share capital of AWL on July 2025.

Lence is expected to complete in November 2025 the purchase of the 13% equity interest that will enable it to hold 56.94% of AWL’s equity share capital, the filing said.

ACL and Lence each currently own 20% and 43.94%, respectively, of the existing paid-up equity share capital of AWL, it added.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
