ValueMax hits back at copyright infringement claims
This stemmed from jewelries which allegedly had branding similar to LV.
ValueMax Group has hit back at Louis Vuitton after it filed a lawsuit alleging that the Group’s retail arm sold items that infringed or passed off LV trademarks.
LV alleges that in July and August of 2024 ValueMax Retail sold two pieces of jewelry at its Yishun Street 22 store that had branding identical or similar to LV’s.
ValueMax argued the sales of the items in question as they were unredeemed pawned items procured through separate sources by the Group.
The company says that it will vigorously and robustly defend these claims brought forward by LV at every appropriate legal stage and will take all necessary action to defend its reputation, according to a bourse filing on 18 December 2025.
ValueMax is of the opinion that the case will not have any material impact on business of the Group as well as the financial statements for the year ending 31 December 2025.
