Analyst says nearly 90% of May BTO flats benefit applicants reluctant by longer waiting time

The majority of the launches have a waiting time of less than four years.

Almost 90% of the build-to-order (BTO) flats bring good news to those applicants who were reluctant to join launches due to longer waiting times, analyst, PropNex, said.

PropNex said the flats have a waiting time of less than four years. The HDB launched 5,495 new BTO flats for sale under its May 2023 BTO exercise.

The five BTO projects in May are in four estates - Bedok, Kallang Whampoa, Serangoon, and Tengah. Of the 5,495 flats launched, more than half (2,956 flats or 53.8%) are located in the non-mature estate of Tengah, with the remaining 2,539 flats coming from mature estate projects.

PropNex said it sees more applicants this time as it is the last BTO exercise before the stricter rules for non-selection kick in from August 2023.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
