FairPrice and Grab unveil rewards subscription programme

Members can get a 5% rebate on grocery purchases and 20% discount on Grab rides.

FairPrice and Grab launched a subscription programme called SCORE that gives consumers benefits, rewards, and rebates on purchases of groceries or Grab rides.

According to a statement, through SCORE, members can enjoy benefits such as a 5% rebate on supermarket purchases, and a 20% discount on Grab rides, capped at $4 a trip, and 30 redemptions a month.

The new programme is priced at $29.99 for the first year and $49.99 for the second year. The promotional first-year annual membership fee is priced at $18.

The SCORE Subscription Programme was developed after a survey conducted with over 1,000 customers between the ages of 20 to 40 years old reflected potential in the market for such a service. "Key results from the survey included groceries (69%) and transport (54%) listed as the top two services that respondents wanted to enjoy benefits on from a subscription service. Almost all survey respondents (95%) also expressed openness to signing up for subscription services," the companies said.

FairPrice and Grab also said consumers can save $102 from Grab rides each month and $1,224 each year. The same consumer who shops for $200 worth of groceries can also save $130 each year.

Grab has also launched fintech and financial initiatives such as GrabPay and Instant Cash Out feature for taxi drivers.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
