Retail sales up 5.3% in November

The total retail sales value hit $3.8b, up 5.56% from $3.6b last year.

Retail sales grew by 5.3% YoY in November, excluding motor vehicles, it rose 4.7% YoY, the Department of Statistics (SingStat) revealed.

According to an announcement, the total retail sales value in November hit $3.8b, higher by 5.56% than the $3.6b last year.

Sales of food and beverage services also rose 2.1% YoY to $692b.

Retail sales of computer & telecommunications equipment increased 16.6%. Similarly, retail sales of supermarkets, petrol service stations, recreational goods, motor vehicles, furniture & household equipment, medical goods & toiletries, department stores, food retailers, wearing apparel & footwear and watches & jewellery rose between 1.7% and 9.7%.

Meanwhile, retail sales of optical goods & books and mini-marts & convenience stores decreased 4.2% YoY and 1.0% YoY, respectively.
