Grab, Chubb to offer drivers pay-out benefit amidst COVID-19

Drivers diagnosed with COVID-19 will be paid $500.

Grab and insurance company Chubb have formed a new joint initiative to provide the ride-hailing firm’s drivers and delivery-partners a complimentary Driver Care benefit, according to an announcement. This will be a part of Grab’s Group Prolonged Medical Leave insurance policy.

This follows after Grab called for volunteer drivers who can provide transport services for healthcare workers. https://sbr.com.sg/transport-logistics/news/grab-launch-grabcare-transport-service-healthcare-workers

The new benefit will give those who volunteered a lump sum pay-out of $1,000. Meanwhile, all driver- and delivery-partners will receive a $500 lump sum in the event that they are diagnosed with COVID-19. It is free-of-charge and automatically available to all Grab drivers and delivery-partners in Singapore from 19 February until 19 March.

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
