Category B COE closes at $126,236 amidst tight May bidding

The category recorded 1,332 bids against the 883 COE quota.

Category B Certificate of Entitlement (COE) closed at $126,236 with a quota of 883 COEs in the May 2026 first Open Bidding Exercise, according to the Land Transport Authority.

The category applies to larger cars and higher-powered electric vehicles. The exercise received 1,332 bids. Of these, 861 were successful, 471 were unsuccessful, whilst 22 remained unused.

Category A, which covers smaller cars and lower-powered electric vehicles under the defined engine capacity and power thresholds, had a COE of $124,790 and a quota of 1,301.

The exercise received 2,071 bids, with 1,294 successful, 777 unsuccessful, and seven remaining unused.

Category E, which can be used for all vehicle types except motorcycles, closed at $127,700, with a quota of 254 COEs.

A total of 479 bids were received. Of these, 248 were successful, 231 were unsuccessful, and six were unused.

Category C COE for goods vehicles and buses closed at $87,479, with a quota of 293. The exercise received 511 bids, with 291 successful, 220 unsuccessful, and two unused.

Category D COE for motorcycles closed at $9,452, with a quota of 529. The exercise received 649 bids, with 527 successful, 122 unsuccessful, and two unused.

The bidding exercise reflects excess demand across all categories, with total bids exceeding available quota in each segment.
