Mapletree Logistics to expand to India

Mapletree proposes the purchase of two new properties in South Asia.

Mapletree Logistics Trust (MLT) is set to expand in South Asia through the proposed acquisition of two warehouses in India.

In a bourse disclosure, Mapletree announced its plans to purchase warehouses in Pune and Maharashtra India through the acquisition of the property holding company for approximately $84.2m.

"Strong demand for logistics space is underpinned by a large growing consumer market, rapidly developing e-commerce, India’s increasing importance as a major manufacturing hub in Asia Pacific as well as a severe lack of supply of Grade A warehouses. The acquisition will enhance our geographical diversification andnetwork connectivity, positioning MLT well to capture future growth opportunities in the region," MLT CEO Ng Kiat said in a statement.

Mapletree expects the acquisition to generate a net property income yield of 7.4%. It will be funded by debt, to be completed by the second quarter of the year.

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
