NUS, Peking and SPORE ink Sinomem as partner

Three universities sign a 5-year initiative to promote research education and commercialisation of environmental and water technology.

Sinomem Technology Limited announced that it has been chosen as the first industrial partner of the National University of Singapore (NUS), Peking University and the University of Oxford Research Enterprise (SPORE), and the exclusive partner for SPORE green leadership training programme.

A Sinomem report released on Thursday said the 5-year agreement with the world's top universities is an initiative to promote research, education and commercialisation of environmental and water technologies.

The initiative launched by Mr. Tan Han Yong Soon, Permanent Secretary Singapore's Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, is a first of its kind in the water technology industry.

The Singapore, Peking and SPORE for Water Eco-Efficiency is worth S$63 million. It is supported by the National Research Foundation through the Environment and Water Industry Programme Office (EWI), NUS, Peking University, the University of Oxford, competitive research grants and industry partnerships.

Sinomem has committed to contribute up to S$3 million funding over the next 5 years to study eco-efficient and green technologies for water treatment plant, green technological park and eco-city planning, design and construction. The SPORE-Sinomem collaboration is expected to commence in the third quarter of 2010.

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
