Mermaid Maritime Public names Chalermchai Mahagitsiri as Executive Vice Chairman

He will be tasked to give advice to the Board on overall investment, divestment and financing strategies of the Company.

The Board of Mermaid Maritime Public announced the appointment of Chalermchai Mahagitsiri as Executive Vice Chairman. Mr. Mahagitsiri was appointed as a Non-Executive Director of the Company on 19 June 2012. The Board of Directors, having considered Mr. Mahagitsiri’s qualifications, networks, experience and proven track record of successfully managing and growing a variety of businesses, appointed him as Executive Vice Chairman.

Mr Mahagitsiri, 33, will be responsible for overseeing the execution by the Company of key initiatives approved by the Board of Directors including giving advice to the Board on overall investment, divestment and financing strategies of the Company. This is an overseeing and advisory role and reports to the Board. The Chief Executive Officer remains accountable to the Board for the overall performance of the Company.

In addition to this executive role, Mr. Mahagitsiri will also perform other duties of a Vice Chairman of the Board as set out in the Articles of Association of the Company, according to a Mermaid Maritime Public report.

In the past he was Executive Vice Chairman of Unique Mining Services Public Company Limited, Chief Executive Officer of PM Group Company Limited and Director of Quality Coffee Products Limited.
