SIA's KrisShop to allow last-minute pre-orders for duty-free items

But only for customers departing Singapore on SilkAir flights for now.

Singapore Airlines’ (SIA) online retail store KrisShop.com will allow customers to pre-order duty-free merchandise up to 60 minutes prior to their flight departure out of Singapore starting 5 September.

For now, the service is limited to those departing Singapore on select SilkAir flights on weekdays between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. (1000hrs and 1600hrs) This will progressively be extended to other SilkAir and SIA flights.

KrisShop currently provides pre-ordering services of up to 24 hours and 48 hours for SIA and SilkAir flights departing Singapore respectively. “With the new initiative, customers who have already checked in and wish to make a last-minute order will still be able to purchase the duty-free merchandise before their flight departs,” the company said.

Customers can then collect their purchased items on board their flight.

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
