CAAS, NTUC roll out $2.6m aviation early-career mentorship scheme
Ground handling and line maintenance staff will get priority mentorship for over five years.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) have launched a $2.6m programme for early career support in the aviation sector.
The OneAviation Early Careers Mentorship Programme will provide structured mentorship support to 2,200 early-career workers over the next five years, starting with employees in ground handling and line maintenance operations roles.
Meanwhile, participating employers will receive consultancy support to integrate mentorship into onboarding and induction processes, as well as mentor-mentee matching services.
The programme will also provide playbooks, tracking tools, and impact measurement platforms.
It will be funded through CAAS’s $200m OneAviation Manpower Fund and managed by NTUC LearningHub.
The initiative aims to prepare the industry for rising air travel demand and the opening of Changi Airport Terminal 5 in the mid-2030s, which is expected to increase passenger handling capacity by around 50 million passengers annually.
