Changi Airport passenger traffic up 8.1% to 5.16m in October

Traffic from India posted the largest increase.

Passenger traffic from the country’s primary civilian air carrier Singapore Changi Airport increased 8.1% YoY as it registered 5.16 million passenger movements in October.

According to a media release, passenger load grew across all regions with traffic from India posting the largest increase at 22%.

This was followed by increased passenger load from China (19%), Thailand (13%) and Vietnam (12%).

City routes that recorded strong growth levels include Bangkok, Phuket, Taipei and Guangzhou.

Airfreight also registered a 5% increase YoY to 185,830 tonnes whilst aircraft movement similarly went up to 3.7% to 31,730 landings and takeoffs.
