SIA passenger traffic up 3.8% as Lunar New Year boosts travel

The group’s overall passenger load factor reached 85.6%.

Singapore Airlines (SIA) Group reported a 3.8% year-on-year increase in passenger traffic for February 2026, slightly below the 4.9% rise in passenger capacity.

The group’s overall passenger load factor (PLF) reached 85.6%, with SIA posting a monthly PLF of 84.9% and Scoot achieving 88.1%.

Combined passenger numbers rose 7.2% year-on-year to 3.3 million, boosted by strong holiday travel demand following the Lunar New Year shift from January 2025 to February 2026.

Additionally, cargo volumes increased 8.8% year-on-year, outpacing a 0.5% decline in capacity. The cargo load factor climbed 4.8 percentage points to 56.7%, reflecting heightened demand ahead of the Lunar New Year.

Scoot also expanded its network in February by launching services to Medan, Indonesia.

By February-end, the SIA Group’s passenger network covered 136 destinations across 37 countries and territories, with SIA serving 78 destinations and Scoot 82.

The group’s cargo network included 140 destinations in 38 countries and territories.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
