IHH Healthcare Singapore and FPT win at Singapore Business Review Technology Excellence Awards 2026

The collaboration delivered an AI-driven digital platform that improved patient experience and operational efficiency.

IHH Healthcare Singapore and FPT were the joint winners of the Singapore Business Review Technology Excellence Awards 2026 for their collaboration on the LizWorld AI-driven platform, winning the Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality - Healthcare category. The project introduced a digital platform that combined augmented reality features with hospital service integration, allowing patients to access personalised information, request services, and manage their hospital journey through a single interface.

The LizWorld platform addressed gaps in patient communication and service coordination within the hospital environment. Access was enabled through patient wrist tags, which allowed secure login and delivery of content tailored to individual profiles. Hospital services, including meal ordering, amenities requests, medication delivery, and discharge arrangements, were integrated into the platform. Billing updates and service notifications were also made available in real time, reducing reliance on manual interactions between patients and staff.

Mr David Nguyen, CEO of FPT Asia Pacific, FPT Corporation, said: “This recognition reflects the strong collaboration between IHH Healthcare Singapore and FPT in applying AI to deliver meaningful outcomes in healthcare. The LizWorld platform demonstrates how technology can enhance patient engagement whilst improving operational efficiency at scale. At FPT, we are committed to advancing AI-driven innovation that not only transforms hospital experiences but also supports healthcare providers in delivering more connected, efficient, and patient-centric services.”

Augmented reality functionality was introduced for patient orientation. Instead of standard verbal briefings, patients used a guided digital room interface to familiarise themselves with the facilities. Orientation time was reduced from 12 minutes to eight minutes, with an estimated 800 staff hours saved annually. Waiting time for service requests declined from 40 minutes to 20 minutes. Each request required 12 minutes less nursing time, contributing to an annual reduction of 120 hours.

Printed materials were no longer required for most patient communications. Paper usage fell by 1,250 kilograms per year, with associated printing cost savings of $60,000. A digital recognition feature was also incorporated, displaying patient compliments within wards and providing visibility of feedback to staff.

The successful delivery of the LizWorld platform was supported by FPT’s experience in healthcare technology and its AI‑first development approach. Leveraging its AI‑driven frameworks and healthcare‑compliant platforms, FPT designed a scalable and secure solution that integrates seamlessly with existing hospital systems, whilst supporting future innovation through advanced data integration and intelligent automation.

The platform was first deployed at Mount Elizabeth Hospital. Expansion across additional hospitals within the group is planned. Its modular design supports integration with existing hospital systems and allows implementation across multiple sites without changes to core infrastructure.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
