StarHub Ltd. earns top distinctions at Singapore Business Review Management Excellence Awards 2025

The company’s Enterprise Business Operations Excellence, Connectivity and Digital Services teams were commended.

StarHub Ltd. received two honours at the Singapore Business Review Management Excellence Awards 2025, with its Enterprise Business Operations Excellence and Digital Services squad winning the Team of the Year - Financial Technology category, and its Enterprise Connectivity and Digital Services squad winning the Team of the Year - Telecommunications. The awards highlight the practical achievements in elevating client and employee experiences through workflow automation and digitalisation across the company’s enterprise operations.

Digitalising financial workflows for accuracy and speed

In the financial technology category, the Enterprise Business Operations Excellence and Digital Services squad developed the Invoice Management Portal — a platform that replaces email and spreadsheet tracking with workflow automation, creating a shared, transparent workspace for Finance, Sales, and Operations.

The team began by recognising a growing client pain point: invoicing issues that affected client experience and confidence in StarHub’s processes. To address this, the company formed a cross-functional agile squad and ran sprints using a human-centric, design-thinking approach. Through end-to-end client journey mapping, StarHub Ltd. identified key operational gaps and the emotional friction points impacting both client and employee experience.

The squad rapidly identified root causes and ideated and co-designed solutions that balanced business needs with client expectations. The result was an automated invoice management portal that streamlines workflows, improves invoice accuracy, and reduces dispute cycles.

Anchoring innovation around client experience, the platform now provides clear visibility of case ownership and progress, reducing manual intervention and strengthening data accuracy across departments. What was once a slow, fragmented process is now a seamless and transparent workflow — improving collaboration, speeding up resolution, and enhancing the overall client experience.

The project also shortens the process of quote-to-cash cycle by 11 days and reduces client complaints on billing discrepancies to zero.

Improving operational transparency in International Connectivity Business

In the telecommunications category, the Enterprise Connectivity and Digital Services squad developed the International Connectivity Portal to address business challenges faced across Sales, Product, Delivery and Support: the lack of a unified, reliable view of international connectivity capacity and service opportunities from pre-sales engagement through to delivery completion.

This information gap and data inconsistencies extended beyond internal operations and directly impacted client experience. Longer quotation cycles and conflicting data created structural inefficiencies that slowed decision-making and reduced service responsiveness.

To resolve this, the team built a centralised platform with clear visibility of capacity allocation, sales pipeline, and partner information in one integrated workspace. Designed to evolve continuously with user feedback, the portal is adaptable for any enterprise managing cross-border or multi-network connectivity.

By connecting data and processes across multiple stakeholders on an integrated platform, the International Connectivity Portal reduces human error, strengthens governance, and improves decision-making. Automated workflows standardise processes and enhance team collaboration – enabling organisations to scale confidently, operate with greater clarity, and deliver service excellence with faster and more accurate client responses.

The Singapore Business Review Management Excellence Awards honours visionary executives, innovators, and high-performing teams, as well as initiatives that champion diversity, inclusion, employee engagement, and workplace well-being.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
