Univers wins at Singapore Business Review Technology Excellence Awards 2026

The company secured top honours for its pivotal role in national-scale renewable integration in Cambodia and the orchestration of Singapore’s first smart business district.

Univers won AI - Renewable Energy and Smart City - Energy in the Singapore Business Review Technology Excellence Awards 2026. The company received recognition for two projects that transform how energy systems operate at both national and district levels through intelligent software and centralised control.

In Cambodia, the company deployed EnOS™ Renewables as the nation’s first centralised monitoring and control system. The system acts as a national command centre, managing 2,000MW of renewable capacity across solar plants, wind farms, and battery energy storage systems in the country. It addresses grid instability caused by intermittency and limited visibility. A dedicated tie-line management module monitors power flows from imported energy. This prevents reverse power flow and reduces the risk of large-scale outages. The deployment implements automated frequency and voltage regulation, shifting grid operations from manual intervention to system-wide regulation.

Whilst strengthening national grids abroad, Univers also leads urban innovation in Singapore at the Punggol Digital District.

Developed by JTC Corporation, this district serves as a national reference for integrated smart infrastructure. Univers designed and operates the AI-enabled smart grid and energy orchestration system for the area. Unlike traditional models that optimise individual buildings in silos, this platform coordinates distributed energy resources across interconnected buildings and public systems as a unified entity.

The architecture integrates solar generation that produces over 3,000 megawatt hours of clean energy annually. It also manages battery energy storage and electric vehicle chargers to handle peak load requirements. The system supports energy efficiency improvements that exceed Green Mark Platinum for Districts benchmarks. By embedding AI into the energy backbone, the project enables predictive optimisation based on demand patterns rather than reactive adjustments.
