Ascott upbeat in 2025 after signings increased 27% to 19,000 units

The company added 102 properties amidst global expansion.

The Ascott Limited (Ascott) signed 19,000 units across 102 properties in 2025, representing a 27% increase in signings from 2024, the company said in a press release.

The total portfolio comprises over 1,000 properties and 176,000 units across 230 cities and 40 countries.

Kevin Goh, Chief Executive Officer of Ascott, said the signings provide income toward a $500m fee target, as business growth relies on franchise agreements and property conversions.

Franchise agreements represented over 25% of the 2025 units, whilst conversions accounted for 38% of the signings.

The company entered more than 10 cities, including Wellington and Taipei. Construction for the 108-room lyf in Wellington will begin by the end of 2026. The 185-room Ascott Nangang Taipei is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2027.

New locations in India include Lucknow and Thanjavur, Ascott said.

The resort portfolio reached 50 properties after 15 signings in Phuket, Phu Quoc, Bali, and Nha Trang. The 693-unit Harris Resort Cam Ranh marks the brand’s first entry into Vietnam.

Branded residence signings included The Residences at Ascott Abov Patong Phuket and Oakwood Premier Branded Residences Luohu Shenzhen.

The Citadines brand reached 200 properties with 17 signings. The Oakwood brand added 16 properties, with the 510-key development in Gangneung, South Korea, representing the largest franchise signing of the year.

The flagship Ascott brand added 10 signings, bringing its total to 87 properties, the company said.

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
