Rising inflation tops concerns of Singaporean consumers

An Ipsos survey revealed that 38% of them are "very impacted" by price increases.

Gone are the days when Singaporeans were worrying about COVID. These days they are more concerned about rising inflation than anything else, according to an Ipsos survey.

This is likely because 38% of consumers have been "very impacted" by price increases, added Ipsos.

According to Ipsos, rising prices have also prompted  Singaporeans to save money in other ways like spending less on travel (32%), clothing (26%), and electronics (22%).

Singaporeans' concern over the rising inflation was alleviated by their belief that the country's economy will become stronger (37%) and that their heir financial situation will improve in the remaining six months (32%).

Whilst Singaporeans have moved past COVID, some behaviours they adopted during the pandemic persists, like using online shopping.

The survey revealed that 40% of Singaporeans are buying more items online now compared to six months before.
